Oh, hey there. 'Sup?
Yeah, that's right. I see you, you know. Not insane or nothing, just...perceptive, you could say.
Wanna know a secret? You wanna know why I moved in?
Why I'm happy sleeping on the couch?
Or working in a garden?
It's because of her. She's so beautiful. But you knew that, didn't you?
"But J," you're saying, "what if she don't like you back? Then this could've been-"
Foolish? Impulsive? Hell, it's better than hearing the noises out of Sergio and Paolo's room. Cool dudes, don't get me wrong, but since my name wasn't on the mortgage on account of Sergio's parents being loaded vs. me being a broke-ass dumbass who moved out of la casa de su mamá the minute he could... I just had to pay the utilities.
Anyway, I don't think this was a mistake. At least, I sure hope not.
"So I was thinking," Brittany said. "You, me, nightclub, yes?"
"I'm always down for showing off my...special moves." I threw in a wink for good measure, just to mess with her a little.
Yeah, that's right. Ya boy's smooth. Okay, maybe a little crass, too, but hey, I don't hear her complaining.
We went out together that night. I went into the club. She made a choice that some chumps fell for, hook, line, and sinker.
She immediately started talking to Paolo and Jes once she got inside. Was I jealous? Nah, man.
...fine. A little bit. But hey, I'm not going to begrudge her a social life. She's an independent gal, that Brittany.
The next morning, I had to think out my next few moves. An idea came to me while watering the plants.
"So what'd you wanna show me that was so important, Joaquin?"
"Come out in the living room."
"...I don't see anything different."
"Allow me."
I'm so glad he's into her too! At first I was worried he was going to friend zone her.
ReplyDeleteMe too - he did initially, but it seemed to work when he initiated the romantic interactions, so I'll take it.
DeleteYay he made a move. Love the different perspective.
